The development of new camouflage patterns for textiles and technical materials has numerous applications in the military, agricultural and industrial fields. Given the tremendous variety of different landscapes and environments in the world, it represents a great opportunity to be able to flexibly implement camouflage patterns created by combining a series of images of an environment taken on the ground.
To this end, the evolution of artificial intelligence techniques and algorithms represents a great opportunity to digitise both the technical fabric development processes and the digital creation of new camouflage patterns, which in recent years have been marked by a series of totally manual tasks with non-existent traceability and repeatability and subjected to the intuition of expert personnel.
The SMART TEXTILE project seeks to implement, in a flexible way, camouflage patterns created by combining images of an environment taken in the field. It has been carried out in collaboration with the PCAMI (Parque y Centro de Abastecimiento de Material de Intendencia del Ejército de Tierra), one of the main supply centres in our country, whose Logistics Unit specialises in the design and management of clothing and equipment. It also has one of the leading ENAC accredited textile R&D laboratories in Spain.
The companies IRIS Technology and FutureSpace are the leaders of the project coordinated by secpho. In this event we will share the results of the project.
The initiative has received funding from the Next Generation EU funds, channelled by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, within the support programme for Innovative Business Groups.
