Digital Innovation Hub of Catalonia
The Digital Innovation Hub of Catalonia is a regional non-profit innovation ecosystem, formed by the main support agents for the digitalization of Catalonia, with the goal of promoting the technological transformation of small and medium enterprises (with a special focus on the industrial sector and technology suppliers), technological start-ups and public entities.
Areas
The technological areas of DIH4CAT are sorted into different Digital Innovation Nodes (DIN), specialized in AI and AI-based technologies, and are coordinated by the most competitive centres of Catalonia.
-
Artificial intelligence
The technology is based on the combination of data optimization and software algorithms and computational capacity so that computers can be able to learn and make decisions with a certain degree of autonomy.
-
Advanced AI Computing
It is the platform for access to solutions and services based on high-performance computing for the industrial sector and public administrations, in order to boost their digital and technological transformation.
-
Cybersecurity
It seeks to protect computers, networks, servers, software applications, critical systems and data from potential digital threats. Organizations have a responsibility to protect data to maintain customer confidence and comply with regulations.
-
Smart connectivity
It facilitates interaction between people and all types of devices, through digital networks, in order to generate data exchanges. Smart connectivity combines the Internet of Things (IOT) with 5G networks.
-
Additive manufacturing and 3D printing
Additive manufacturing is a method that consists of adding material to build parts. It gives the possibility to create parts with advanced functionalities, thus obtaining industrial improvements.
-
Advanced manufacturing and robotics
It focuses on specific technological solutions for terrestrial, aerial and aquatic robotics, and also works with Industry 4.0 technologies, such as sensorics, A.I., augmented reality, simulation and artificial vision, for application in manufacturing processes.
-
Photonics
It is everything that has to do with photons, whether they are the object of study or the tool. Photonics is considered to be one of the 5 KETs (Key Enabling Technologies), which can add value to a wide variety of sectors.
-
Nanotechnology and advanced materials
Nanotechnology involves the design, manipulation, and integration of innovative materials with versatile and tuneable properties or functionalities at the atomic and molecular scale.
