The logistics sector is now a strategic field for the economy and business competitiveness. In Catalonia, where it accounts for close to 11% of GDP, it is undergoing a profound transformation driven by the growth of e-commerce, the increasing complexity of supply chains, sustainability requirements, and an increasingly uncertain global context. This scenario highlights the need to evolve toward more efficient, flexible, and resilient logistics models.
In this context, data-driven technologies and artificial intelligence are becoming a key lever to foster more agile, predictive, and connected logistics. AI offers new capabilities to improve planning, optimize transport and last-mile delivery, strengthen operational resilience, and move toward more sustainable logistics.
With this objective, CIDAI has developed the “White Book” on Artificial Intelligence applied to the Logistics sector in Catalonia, a document that analyzes the main challenges, trends, and barriers facing the sector and identifies opportunities and priority actions to accelerate AI adoption. The “White Book” has been developed based on interviews with experts, collective reflection sessions, and a rigorous technical analysis.
