The European Commission has launched new features on the AI-on-Demand platform, a flagship digital infrastructure that puts the goal of turning Europe into a true AI continent at its core. Developed under the European projects AI4Europe and DeployAI, this platform offers trustworthy AI tools, computing resources, and ready-to-use modules aimed at researchers, companies, SMEs, and public sector organisations.

The new features include an AI tools marketplace, a low-code development tool, and secure solutions for generative AI applications and advanced language models. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen European digital sovereignty, connect local talent with industry, and reduce dependency on global technology ecosystems.

In this context, Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs), such as DIH4CAT in Catalonia, play a key role in connecting businesses with the European AI ecosystem, identifying the most suitable path based on their level of technological maturity. Specifically, DIH4CAT supports Catalan companies in identifying AI solutions and accessing the most appropriate resources within the AI-on-Demand platform and other European initiatives, such as:

• AI Factories (such as the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, a DIH4CAT partner), to develop advanced AI models with specialized technical support.
• Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs), tseting labs to experiment with AI technologies in real-life environments before implementation.
• Regulatory sandboxes, which allow companies to test AI solutions under controlled legal conditions.

This support network around AI enables a scalable response to companies’ technological needs, whether they are just getting started or developing advanced projects with European support.
