Photonics is everything that has to do with photons, whether they are the object of study or the target. There are many well-known tools such as lasers, LEDs, sensors, fiber optic or satellite communications, cameras, spectra… In fact, photonics is considered one of the 5 enabling technologies or KETs (Key Enabling Technologies), which can add value to areas as varied as health, communications, the environment or aerospace, among many others.
