Modern artificial intelligence is based on supercomputing to train and run increasingly complex models. This EuroCC Spain RES course offers SMEs a practical introduction to the key technologies and concepts that make this revolution possible — from parallel programming to the efficient use of GPUs and Deep Learning frameworks.

The course will take place from November 17 to 21 and will be held entirely online. It combines a self-learning part for the theoretical concepts with a practical session on November 20, where participants will be able to apply the concepts learned through real examples using EuroCC supercomputing resources. Upon completion, students who pass the final project of the course will receive a certificate of achievement.

• Architecture and operation of GPUs: heterogeneous systems, host-device model, and Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT).
• Introduction to Deep Learning (DL): current landscape of artificial intelligence and fundamentals of neural networks.
• Deep Learning workflow: from data preparation to model evaluation.
• Hands-on training with PyTorch, one of the most widely used frameworks in the industry.
• Parallelism in AI: how to distribute training and speed up processes.
• Introduction to PyTorch Distributed Data Parallel (DDP) and optimization strategies.
