The AI Office has invited providers and developers of generative AI systems to sign up to the code of practice on transparency of AI-generated content. The initiative aims to support compliance with the obligations under the AI Act regarding the identification of AI-generated content, which will become applicable from 2 August 2026.

Signatory organisations commit to following the guidelines set out in the code, which can provide greater legal certainty and a more harmonised implementation of requirements across the EU. In addition, signatories will be listed in a public register to be published in July 2026.
