The PROBIO-AI project is developing a cognitive digital twin that integrates knowledge of the laboratory and production processes of EMLIFE Biotics, a company specialised in liquid probiotics. Through an artificial intelligence assistant, the solution will give staff access to procedures and instructions in natural language, with the aim of improving quality, reducing errors and preserving the organisation’s expert knowledge.

The project addresses the dispersion of information across documents, manual records and the experience of professionals. PROBIO-AI will structure this knowledge to offer contextualised guidance in quality control tests, the onboarding of new employees and training to take on roles in different production areas. The assistant will support decision-making, with people retaining responsibility and oversight.

EMLIFE Biotics coordinates the project and provides the industrial validation environment, while Connecthink develops the technological solution. Eurecat, on behalf of DIH4CAT, contributes technical support, the review and validation of impact indicators, and governance for the responsible use of AI.

PROBIO-AI runs from December 2025 to December 2026 and receives support from the second open call of the European project WASABI. The experience aims to help extend the use of intelligent digital assistants to other SMEs with similar needs in knowledge management, quality and training.
