The video game industry continues to consolidate its position as one of the drivers of growth in the Spanish economy and a strategic sector with high added value. In Spain, the sector has maintained steady growth thanks to the momentum of established studios, the commitment of multinational companies, and the creation of leading proprietary IPs.

According to the latest 2024 White Paper on Spanish Video Game Development, the turnover of Spanish video game development companies reached 1.417 billion euros in 2023, representing an increase over the previous year, although at a more moderate pace than in previous periods. Catalonia continues to lead the sector in terms of turnover and remains the main hub of activity.

Currently, there are 790 active studios in Spain. Regionally, Catalonia accounts for 30% of the studios.
