However, despite these potential benefits, not all businesses, and especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), have the capacity to transform themselves by incorporating advanced digital technologies. Last year, three out of five European SMEs achieved a basic level of digitisation, according to Eurostat data. However, a small percentage of companies successfully adopted emerging technologies (e.g. only 5% of EU SMEs used 3D printing and only 6% used robots). How to make it work?
