Cybersecurity is today one of the most important challenges of the digital era. The development of digitalization, new ways of working remotely and collaboratively or the creation of new business models have recently led to historic records of cyber-attacks on a global scale. For this reason, cybersecurity has become a priority for any organization.

In this context, the increase in the number of threats, as well as the high number of protection and detection devices to be implemented, have exponentially increased the demand for experts in the design and management of cybersecurity.

With the aim of training these professionals, the UPC School organizes the Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity Management. Students taking the master’s degree will have the opportunity to learn the methodologies and techniques necessary to manage, plan, design and implement the necessary procedures to optimize the security of the different assets, taking into account the latest cyber threats that have recently appeared.

• Check the security status of an entity, audit the different assets that compose it and estimate priorities in order to minimize risks.
• Proactively detect an attack on an entity through monitoring tools, applying date mining and artificial intelligence techniques on large amounts of information.
• Plan contingency plans and respond to security incidents, applying recognized forensic techniques to maintain the chain of custody, analyze malware and recover information.
• Identify an entity’s critical assets and determine the necessary measures to protect them.
• Manage the digital security of an entity, establish the appropriate methodologies and design an architecture according to the business needs to minimize the risks to which the different assets may be exposed.
• Use the necessary tools and protocols to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data.
• Identify the necessary measures to guarantee the correct operation of the systems.
• Identify the organization’s cybersecurity compliance needs and deploy programs and plans to implement management systems that provide the guarantees required by the market and the administration.
