Machine Learning (ML) is becoming increasingly important in the electricity sector due to its digitalisation and the large amount of data generated from electricity grids and devices such as smart meters. ML techniques make it possible to define patterns and decision rules for optimal operation of the electricity system based on the analysis and interpretation of the available data. Some of the most important applications of ML in the electricity sector are forecasts of renewable generation and demand, grouping of similar consumption profiles, among others.
The Machine Learning course is taught by Sara Barja Martínez, Industrial Engineer specialising in Energy from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). Project engineer in the field of energy at the centre for technological innovation @CITCEA-UPC. PhD student in Electrical Engineering, focusing her research on the optimisation of smart energy management systems, electricity market flexibility and developing data-driven energy services using Artificial Intelligence techniques.
Aimed at professionals in the energy sector who wish to enter the world of artificial intelligence focused on the energy sector.
