With the increase of cyber attacks in today’s world, it is increasingly necessary to protect oneself, so much so that cybersecurity problems affect both end users and private companies, as well as public environments. In this sense, this course will make this problem visible, providing a knowledge base in cybersecurity with the aim of customizing this knowledge to the area of smart cities and transportation systems, both in the public and private spheres.

This course will look at common problems in environments exposed to the Internet, as well as mechanisms to effectively protect them without noticeably impacting the day-to-day life of service users.

Thus, from a professional point of view, this course will provide knowledge to support the securization of services and infrastructures used by existing services in the transport area, but also focusing on common protection systems such as firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) or even applications deployed with network access. To complete this knowledge, active techniques to verify the security of the systems by means of Ethical Hacking will also be seen.

This study is part of the training actions funded by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU. This grant aims to carry out training courses for digital empowerment and sustainability in the field of transport and mobility.

Participants in this study must be citizens of a Member State of the European Union or of another State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and Switzerland, or have authorization to stay or reside in Spanish territory.
