The adoption of emerging technologies by businesses has the potential to improve their products, services, and competitiveness. Yet, despite these potential benefits, not all small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have the capacity to undertake digital transformation. Last year, three out of five SMEs in Europe reached a basic level of digitalization, according to Eurostat data. However, a small percentage of companies successfully adopted emerging technologies (e.g., only 5% of EU SMEs used 3D printing, and only 6% used robots). How to make it work?
