The mission of Manufacturing Process Engineering is to design and select the optimal production elements for a given production application, with the following objectives: minimize costs, reduce production and start-up times, improve quality and, above all, increase productivity.

In today’s industrial environment, improving the efficiency of facilities and the product value chain is becoming increasingly important. In this integrated design environment, which takes into account process engineering, it is necessary to have computational tools to support the production process, in order to reduce the cost of production and accelerate the start of the manufacturing chain of products.

For these reasons, throughout the course the most commonly used manufacturing processes and systems are presented and introduced to the industry, the current state-of-the-art techniques in the field of computer-aided manufacturing and connected industry and 4.0 are shown and used, emphasis is placed on the key points to carry out industrialization processes and the main tools of Lean Manufacturing are introduced and put into practice; providing the necessary management tools for continuous improvement in our production plants.

Objectiu de l'acte

  • Determine the investment, cost and time required for the industrialization of a product.
  • Identify and evaluate the characteristics and advantages of using Computer Aided Manufacturing Process Engineering Systems for each specific need.
  • Implement efficiency improvement actions according to Lean Manufacturing.
  • Increase the speed of decision making based on simulation results.
  • To have information on the operation of the production system before its implementation.
